Study analyzing the effect of driver mutations on the (phospho)proteome and microenvironment of meningiomas (and gliomas)

Prof Oliver Hanemann, University of Plymouth

Prof Oliver Hanemann’s research team is trying to understand why brain tumours develop and discover new ways of diagnosing and treating them. They are working out new methods to predict whether the brain tumour should be monitored more regularly after the operation.  Also, they are using genetic tests to evaluate if patients with similar tumour characteristics can be grouped to achieve better results in clinical trials to help personalizing treatment. The researchers share and publish their results from these samples/data to the scientific community and this helps towards developing new diagnostic tests and treatments for other tumours too.
